The Business Development Manager will join a compact commercial team and report to the Head of Sales. You will own the end-to-end sales cycle: market mapping, lead generation, product demos, proposal negotiation and contract closure. The role entails close collaboration with product, compliance and delivery teams to ensure commercial offers are scalable and compliant for EU markets.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted sales plan to grow B2B revenue across payments, embedded finance and fintech SaaS products.
  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline through outreach, networking and partner introductions.
  • Conduct commercial discovery, deliver product demonstrations and prepare tailored proposals and commercial terms.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients and partners in coordination with legal and compliance teams.
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to scope solutions, define pricing and ensure successful onboarding.
  • Maintain up-to-date CRM records (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot), sales forecasts and KPI reports.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences and client meetings in Malta and select EU markets.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships and reseller relationships to expand market reach.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B sales or business development within fintech, payments, banking or related technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of closing mid-to-large commercial deals (SaaS, payments integrations or platform contracts).
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and experience working with commercial/technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with EU payments landscape, basic regulatory considerations and partner ecosystems.
  • Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot or similar) and producing sales forecasts and reports.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Maltese is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Right to work in Malta (EU/EEA nationals or holders of a valid Maltese work permit).

Work schedule

Typical week: Monday to Friday, standard office hours with flexibility for client meetings and occasional evening events.
