The Full Stack Developer will work across the full product lifecycle: requirements, implementation, testing and deployment. You will own features in Laravel, build and maintain RESTful APIs, integrate third-party services and contribute to front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks. The role suits someone who enjoys both backend problem-solving and front-end polish.

You will join a cross-functional team of product managers, designers and other developers. Expect collaborative code reviews, regular sprint planning and opportunities to propose architectural improvements. Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP and Laravel
  • Implement front-end features using Vue.js or React as required
  • Write unit and integration tests (PHPUnit / JavaScript testing frameworks)
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver features on sprint cadence
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support deployment processes (Docker, GitLab/GitHub Actions)
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks and security concerns
  • Integrate third-party services (payment gateways, REST/SOAP APIs) and maintain documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years professional experience with PHP and Laravel in production
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL / MariaDB) and query optimisation
  • Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js or React) and frontend tooling
  • Experience with Git and collaborative branching workflows
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and experience building/consuming APIs
  • Practical experience with automated testing (PHPUnit, feature tests)
  • Proficient English for technical communication; Maltese is a plus
  • Right to work in Malta / EU residents preferred (please state permit status on application)
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model with regular in-office collaboration

Work schedule

Typical week: Monday to Friday, core in-office days (e.g. 2–3 days) with flexible remote working the remainder of the week.

  • Standard office hours: 09:00–17:30
  • Flexible start: 08:00–10:30 (core hours 10:00–15:00)
  • Occasional after-hours support for deployments or critical incidents
