About the role

Fnkt Labs Singapore builds gamified promotions, in-app mini-games and rewards engines for cafe, restaurant and food-hall partners across Singapore and the region. We blend product, data science and ops to drive repeat visits through fair, engaging prize mechanics and analytics-driven optimisation.

You will join a compact product & engineering team to architect RNG models, compute expected values, run Monte Carlo simulations, and implement reliable, auditable probability engines that integrate with our backend services. The role sits at the intersection of mathematics, product design and compliance — ensuring customer-facing games are fun, transparent and meet local regulatory requirements.

This is a hybrid role based in Tanjong Pagar with flexible on-site days for cross-functional work. It's a high-impact position: your models will shape promotions across kopitiam-style breakfast partners, CBD lunch campaigns, and weekend loyalty activations in heartland malls. Growth opportunities include leading a small team and owning Fnkt's probability standard library and auditing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate probabilistic models and RNGs for customer-facing promotional games and loyalty mechanics.
• Develop Monte Carlo simulations and closed-form analyses to estimate RTP, volatility and prize distributions.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate campaign goals into mathematically-sound reward structures.
• Implement and review probability logic in code (Python/SQL/TypeScript) and ensure production-readiness.
• Create documentation, audits and reproducible reports for partners and internal compliance.
• Run A/B tests and analyse lift metrics to optimise game parameters and expected business outcomes.
• Monitor live games for anomalies, tune parameters in response to real-world telemetry and fraud signals.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to a shared library of probabilistic utilities and tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience working with probability, stochastic modelling or risk systems (industry or research).
• Strong programming skills in Python (NumPy/SciPy), experience with Monte Carlo and simulation tooling.
• Good SQL skills for analysing event logs and computing empirical distributions from telemetry.
• Familiarity with A/B testing, experiment design and interpreting statistical significance in product metrics.
• Experience producing reproducible documentation and clear, auditable model descriptions.
• Ability to work hybrid in Singapore, attend on-site sessions and occasionally support evening or weekend campaigns.
• Attention to fairness and regulatory constraints relevant to promotional gaming in Singapore.
