About the role
Valletta People Partners Ltd is a mid-sized professional services employer supporting clients across finance, iGaming and tech-enabled services. Our HR team partners closely with business unit leaders to shape workforce plans, build performance culture and ensure consistent people practices across the organisation.
As an HR Business Partner you will act as the primary HR contact for assigned business units. You will provide consultative support on employee relations, performance management, organisational design and workforce planning while working with shared-service and People & Culture colleagues to implement HR programmes and initiatives.
This role suits an experienced HR generalist with strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness and the ability to translate business needs into people interventions. Key responsibilities
- Act as trusted HR advisor to assigned business leaders on people strategy, resourcing and organisational design
- Manage employee relations cases end-to-end, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policy
- Support performance management cycles, coaching managers on objective setting, reviews and improvement plans
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and People Operations to forecast headcount and manage recruitment priorities
- Deliver people projects such as engagement initiatives, retention programmes and change management activities
- Use HRIS and people data to produce insights and recommendations for leaders
- Ensure HR policies and processes comply with Maltese employment legislation and are consistently applied
- Coordinate with L&D to identify training needs and support rollout of development programmes
Requirements
- University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum 4 years' experience in HR generalist or business partner roles, preferably within corporate or shared-service environments
- Proven experience managing employee relations, performance and change interventions
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at manager and senior manager level
- Confident use of HRIS (experience with BambooHR, Sage HR, SAP SuccessFactors or similar an advantage) and Excel for data analysis
- Fluent written and spoken English; Maltese language skills highly desirable
- Eligible to work in Malta (candidates requiring sponsorship should disclose this during application)

Work schedule
Typical week: Monday to Friday, standard office hours with 2–3 days per week in the Sliema office and flexibility for remote working.
- Standard office hours: 09:00–17:30
- Flexible start: 08:00–10:00 (core hours 10:00–16:00)
- Occasional early evenings for stakeholder meetings or project deadlines
