The Responsible Gaming Officer will join a compact Compliance & Responsible Gaming team, reporting to the Head of Compliance. You will be responsible for day-to-day monitoring of player behaviour, investigating high-risk accounts, managing self-exclusion processes and contributing to policy updates and staff training. The role requires close collaboration with customer support, payments, product and data teams to protect players and reduce harm.

Key responsibilities
- Monitor player behaviour and account activity daily using internal AML/RG tools and transaction reports.
- Investigate and document high-risk accounts, flagging signs of problem gambling and preparing case notes for escalation.
- Manage self-exclusion, cooling-off and deposit limit requests, ensuring processes are followed accurately and promptly.
- Work with customer support and payments teams to apply appropriate account restrictions and support measures.
- Prepare regular responsible gaming reports and dashboards for senior compliance and product teams.
- Contribute to the development and review of responsible gaming policies, procedures and play-safe tools.
- Support training sessions for front-line staff on recognising and handling vulnerable players.
- Liaise with third-party service providers (helplines, counselling partners) and provide referrals where required.
- Assist with regulator queries and audits related to responsible gaming and player protection.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in responsible gaming, compliance, or risk within iGaming, fintech or related industries.
- Practical understanding of player protection measures, self-exclusion processes and behavioural risk indicators.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using monitoring tools, CRM systems and Excel for reporting.
- Excellent written and spoken English; clear case writing and record-keeping skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with support, payments and product teams.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple investigations with attention to detail.
- Eligible to work in Malta or holding the right to work in Malta.
- Discretion handling sensitive personal data and adherence to confidentiality requirements.

Work schedule
Typical week: Monday to Friday standard hours, with occasional after-hours availability for incident response or regulator meetings.
- Standard office hours: 09:00–17:30
- Flexible start/finish within core hours upon agreement
- On-call rotation for high-priority incidents (infrequent)
