SEO Content Writer (English Native)
About the role
Sliema Digital Media Ltd is an independent digital agency working with clients across iGaming, fintech, tourism and eCommerce. We combine data-driven SEO with creative content to help brands grow organic traffic and convert visitors into customers. The team is small, collaborative and deadline-driven, based in Sliema with regular hybrid working.
The SEO Content Writer will be responsible for planning and writing high-quality, search-optimised content including blog posts, product pages and landing copy. You will work closely with SEO specialists, content strategists and account managers to research keywords, map content to user intent, and ensure every piece meets technical and editorial standards.
This is a great role for a native English writer who enjoys measurable results and cross-sector projects. You will gain exposure to international clients, attend local agency events in St Julian's and Sliema, and benefit from internal training on content strategy, SEO tools and analytics. The role is suitable for candidates based in Malta or willing to relocate who have the right to work here.

Key responsibilities
- Produce SEO-optimised content for blogs, landing pages, product descriptions and marketing campaigns in native-level English
- Conduct keyword research and map content to search intent using SEO tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush or similar)
- Collaborate with SEO specialists and account managers to develop content briefs and editorial calendars
- Apply on-page SEO best practices (meta tags, headings, internal linking and schema basics)
- Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, brand voice consistency and compliance with client guidelines
- Publish content into CMS (WordPress or client-specific platforms) and format for web readability
- Monitor content performance and iterate based on analytics and organic search trends
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards
Requirements
- Native-level English writing and grammar (required)
- 2+ years of professional content writing experience, ideally with SEO-focused output
- Practical experience with CMS platforms (WordPress preferred) and basic HTML formatting
- Familiarity with keyword research and SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, or equivalents)
- Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience producing content for web audiences, including headline and meta description writing
- Good communication skills and comfort working in a small cross-functional team
- Right to work in Malta (applicants should be able to legally work in Malta at the time of application)

Work schedule
Typical week: Monday to Friday, core office days and collaborative meetings scheduled across weekdays; occasional weekend work only for time-sensitive campaigns.
- Standard office hours: 09:00–17:30
- Flexible start: 08:00–10:00 core window
- Two remote days per week agreed with line manager
