SEO Manager - Link Building Strategy

About the role

Sliema Digital Labs Ltd is an independent digital marketing agency serving local and international clients across iGaming, fintech and e-commerce. We combine data-driven SEO with creative content and technical optimisation. The team is compact, fast-moving and client-focused, based in Sliema with flexible hybrid working.

You will own the agency's link-building strategy: designing campaigns, managing outreach, coordinating content and measuring impact on organic visibility and revenue. The role suits a proactive specialist who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on execution, including mentoring junior staff and liaising with account teams and developers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the link-building strategy for agency clients, aligned to their business KPIs.
• Plan and manage outreach campaigns, including prospecting, email outreach, follow-up and relationship building.
• Coordinate content creation for link-led campaigns, briefing writers and reviewing assets for SEO value.
• Perform backlink audits, monitor link profiles with tools such as Ahrefs / SEMrush and conduct disavow where required.
• Set measurable KPIs, prepare monthly performance reports and present results to clients and account teams.
• Manage relationships with third-party publishers, influencers and PR partners to secure high-quality links.
• Work closely with technical SEO and development teams to ensure on-site factors complement link efforts.
• Mentor and line-manage junior SEO or outreach staff, delegating tasks and reviewing output.

Requirements

• 3+ years hands-on SEO experience with a focus on link-building and outreach, ideally within an agency environment.
• Proven track record of running successful link campaigns that moved organic visibility and traffic.
• Strong experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Majestic or Moz and Google Search Console.
• Excellent written and verbal English; strong outreach copywriting and negotiation skills.
• Comfortable producing client-facing reports and presenting results to stakeholders.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress) and basic HTML/CSS for collaboration with developers.
• Eligibility to work in Malta is required.
