Trading Analyst (Sportsbook)

About the role

Harbour Point Trading Ltd is a Malta-based iGaming trading operation supporting multiple sportsbook brands across Europe and beyond. The team operates from a modern office in St Julian's and combines quantitative analysis, on-the-hoof trading and post-event review to maximise margin and limit risk.

The Trading Analyst will be part of a small, fast-paced trading desk, working alongside senior traders, data analysts and risk managers. You will help price markets, manage liability, react to live events and implement limits and hedging where required. The role offers exposure to a wide range of sports, competitive training, and clear progression into senior trading or risk positions.

This position suits someone with strong numeracy, a calm approach to high-pressure events, and a curiosity about sports markets and pricing models. Key responsibilities

• Price pre-match and in-play markets across a range of sports using internal tools and spreadsheets
• Monitor market movements and competitor odds to identify trading opportunities and risks
• Manage exposure and liability by applying and adjusting limits, stakes and hedging strategies
• Set and fine-tune pricing models and parameters in collaboration with data analysts
• React to live events and breaking information to protect book integrity
• Review settled markets, perform post-event analysis and document learnings
• Escalate suspicious patterns and potential arbitrage or abuse to Risk & Compliance
• Contribute to rota planning for major sporting events and international fixtures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in sportsbook trading, betting operations or a quantitative role within iGaming
• Strong numeracy and comfort working with probabilities and odds
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL or Python is highly advantageous
• Familiarity with pre-match and in-play market dynamics across major sports (football, tennis, basketball)
• Ability to work under pressure during live events and maintain accurate records
• Fluent professional English; Maltese is an advantage but not required
• Right to work in Malta or ability to obtain required work authorization
